Visions

According to Blogger I have 52 posts sitting in "draft".  Now we'll call it 51.

Today (20/5/12) I had flashbacks to high school.  Specifically to the naughty boys, that everyone loves, swinging on their chairs.  Last week Brian told me that he fell off his chair at Kindy.  I immediately questioned him about it.  "Were you swinging on your chair?"  He said "yes".  I didn't discipline him because you can never really be sure when you weren't there and you are relying on the word of a nearly 4 year old (albeit a very honest one).

Today it happened again.  He fell off his chair and I saw him lying on the ground, swinging he had been.  "It's ok Mummy, I don't need to go to the hospital."  He got in big trouble.  Brian's understanding of things is pretty awesome and if you explain something so he understands he will quote it back to you, using his own words (which are usually bigger and smarter than the words you used!) the same day, or 2 years later (no joke).  We discussed the dangers of swinging on chairs and the worst possible outcomes.  I also demonstrated the difference between the height of his little plastic chair and the one he sits on at the dinner table.

Dangerous as it may be I kind of liked his rebellious streak, but Brian you didn't read that here.

  2. He he. It is nice to see that they have that little spark about them in their personality. My youngest has plenty of that rebellious streak in her I just hope that it will mean that they can stand up to peer pressure when they are older and not give me too much grief;) x
