So, we have been enjoying these last days of freedom (so dramatic) and have also been trying to prepare. There are things to buy like a backpack, sheets (for nap time), library bag, fabric label tape, lunchbox and drink bottle. And there is a lot of routine creating happening too. Most of that is figuring out exactly how I will get the 3 of us out of the house ready for the day at 8:15am. Someone might be a little to into this stay at home Mum business and finally need to bring back the morning alarm for herself!
During December we had the first "opening of the lunchbox" day. I'm pretty sure the drums were playing:

| Christmas jammies are completely allowed at lunch time! |

| Ham and chutney sandwich with fresh green beans on the side. |
And yes, if you know me at all you know exactly how hard it was for me to buy a cheap simple, non-compartmentalised lunchbox. But I figure a) he's a boy and they lose things, and b) the poor child needs to be able to open his own lunchbox!

Oh yeah I hear you on this one! I spent most of last year thinking "can't wait for her to go to Kindy" and now the time has come I don't want her to go!!! But I think she needs it and is definitely ready. Also doing the lunchbox and labels thing.
It is hard watching them grow up but exciting too. I hope the day goes well for both of you. It looks like he's very excited about going and loves that new lunchbox too. You are such a great Mum getting it ready and preparing him for his big day. Enjoy the rest of your holidays and sleep ins:) x
Hello Brooke,
Oh what a sweet post this is. I remember that feeling with all my kids and especially the last one. Part of us are happy and the other part sad that they have to leave. My thoughts were just like yours and getting them ready and I even had them practice opening things in their lunches at home to be sure they knew how.
He will love making new friends and learning exciting things.
For his lunches if you look at my blog there is a button "MEET THE DUBIENS" this lady does AWESOME job at packing fun and healthy lunches for her little girl, she just started prek this year. You will love the ideas though. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Good luck with you and your little one, my thoughts and prayers will be with you. I promise each day gets easier!!
