Here Comes Kindy

Well, I'm dying to bring you a whole bunch of posts, including a Christmas wrap up but we are a little busy around here of late.  You see, in 15 (short) days my little man starts kindy (enter tears).  Up until this point I've been incredibly excited for Brian as I know that he will love the activities and structure that come with kindy.  But as the time creeps closer the emotions of losing my little sidekick for a couple of days a week kicks in.  3.5 years old is an awesome age, Brian is a huge help to me but most of all he's super fun to be around.  The jokes, the tricks, the silliness, the happiness - it's very catching.

So, we have been enjoying these last days of freedom (so dramatic) and have also been trying to prepare.  There are things to buy like a backpack, sheets (for nap time), library bag, fabric label tape, lunchbox and drink bottle.  And there is a lot of routine creating happening too.  Most of that is figuring out exactly how I will get the 3 of us out of the house ready for the day at 8:15am.  Someone might be a little to into this stay at home Mum business and finally need to bring back the morning alarm for herself!

During December we had the first "opening of the lunchbox" day.  I'm pretty sure the drums were playing:

Christmas jammies are completely allowed at lunch time!

Ham and chutney sandwich with fresh green beans on the side.

And yes, if you know me at all you know exactly how hard it was for me to buy a cheap simple, non-compartmentalised lunchbox.  But I figure a) he's a boy and they lose things, and b) the poor child needs to be able to open his own lunchbox!
