Hello May

Wow, so blogging is not a big priority right now.  I miss it, writing the most.  I'm working on about 100 little projects right now that are all pulling me in different directions and giving me all kinds of outlets in the form of professional, creative, personal and just generally happy.

We are busy.  Kevin is overseas and that changes my plate here at home.  We are doing a whole lot of lazy (because that's important too), social, regular activities and the things that just need to happen.  I'm reminded that I don't like the seasonal changeover of clothing.  I'm pretty sure that once I thought I loved it.  Right now it's a hassle.

We are enjoying outside time and it's super fun.  Sand table play, watching the kids play in the yard with a soccer ball and wheelbarrow, remote control car driving in the street.  We I really need to work some 'walk to school' into the mix!  Also working for us on the play front is bringing out one large toy item per week.  This week it was the chalkboard that has been in Simon's room since we decorated for Christmas.  Both kids have loved this.  Simon's drawings have amazed me.  He gets that images are created from shapes and he draws a killer circle.

I'm clearly not recording life in this space right now.  But I am using Evernote, Heidi Swapp's Memory Planner Album, Facebook, my calendar, random bits of paper, my phone camera and Project Life.  Feeling the need to start up a journal for thoughts and writings.  Privacy seems to be a little more key right now, not quite sure why that is.  My thoughts tend to be deeper and therefore I guess more personal.  I'm participating in Ali Edward's One Little Word class and while I'm WAY behind the process is fantastic.  Kudos to those that share it all but I'm relishing in the 'personalness' of it.

I have no idea what May holds for us.  This is my second month of living life without filling out the calendar with scheduled events.  It's nice.  We are taking it as it comes.

Big for us right now is Simon.  He's toilet trained, which was my Easter holiday goal.  He completely rocked it and I think that from my end being more experienced with the process and knowing what works and what doesn't as well as sticking with it sped things along.  He had two dry overnights this week and I'm pretty sure on purpose last night decided he didn't want to wake up with a dry nappy.  I've told him 3 nights dry and he'll be in undies overnight.  We'll get there, that wasn't really something I was aiming for right now, but Mr Big Boy is growing fast, too fast!  Bonus to being toilet trained in our house means you get a bed.  That will hopefully come soon, we'll go through the same route as we did with Brian.  Simon is also eating meals at the table with us.  I wasn't ready for this, again he's pushing forward here.  We have a little surprise for Daddy when he comes home but let's just say we are ready to sell the high chair.

Come at us May.
