Christmas Favourites

I have just completed one of my favourite things to do at Christmas, and yes it is 2nd February.  That thing is, read the cards my parents received.  I love the variety of the cards both inside and out.  The fantastic handwriting that had me staring at "Dear Peter and Jenny" for about 5 minutes, the stories of years gone by, appreciating the lengths ageing family and friends go to just to write a card, discovering that our neighbour from Melbourne (we moved away 30+ years ago) still keeps in touch and that she now holidays on her back patio (how gorgeous), the promises to catch up, the stuff of life (and sometimes death) and the talent that shines through (little drawings, fantastic writers, personality).  It's kind of beautiful and that's why we always send a handwritten card with letter too.
