Happy 1st December

December Daily update:
  • Overlays purchased - much to my husband's horror.  My (novice online) purchasing triggered a phone call from the bank saying they had blocked my credit card as they feared the transaction was fraudulent.  Nice to know the bank is on the ball, even for a USD$4.19 purchase.  Time to learn more about PayPal.
  • Overlays experimented with - I use GIMP 2 to edit (loosely) my photos.  I'm such a novice that I played around a little with colouring the overlay and placing it over a photograph.  All achieved but not sure I can repeat it.  It's much more labour intensive than Ali's Elements video from last year.
  • Photos taken - advent opening and a shot of our street.
  • Story decided and journaling written - going with a copy of the same shot from 1st December last year.
  • Want to remember - Brian's relationship with Simon today.  Brian has been playing the Mother, telling Simon he has two choices - stay, play and stop crying or go to bed with no milk (he did have milk).  There was also some lovely conversation going on in relation to Play School and that yes indeed Simon did want to watch it with Brian.  Simon loves Brian so much it's very cute to watch.  Mr Mum didn't want any photos taken.
  • Want to remember #2 - At 3.5 years Brian is much more aware of the advent calendar.  The first thing he said this morning is "Mummy, you put up your calendar".  Brian has his own preschool version of a calendar (made from felt) with days of the week, months, weather, etc.  We read today's task "Make Reindeer Food for your friends".  After Brian's nap he asked "Is today 2?"  It's going to be a LONG month!
  • Here is my DD journaling straight from my Word Document:
Thursday 1st December 2011
It’s rare that I take a photo on the same day one year apart and today I couldn’t resist that opportunity.  Last year I remember being shocked at greeting our first day of Summer with rain, but that’s how it goes in Brisbane.  Today has threatened a repeat, dark and dreary all day.  I’ve been waiting for the drops to start and of course they come (albeit slowly) just after I took this shot at 3:20pm.
