Online Shopping For Toys In Australia

LEGO Large Brick Box Pink
Buying and sending this gift to my niece has convinced
me online shopping is a better deal!

I've been pretty happy to discover recently that Australia has joined the rest of the world in affordable online shopping, specifically for toys.  Woo hoo!

This year, for the first time I'm ordering gifts for my interstate niece and nephew online.  I can get things for the same price online (with sales) as I can with sales (because I love to buy on sale!) in retail outlets and their flat rate shipping is quite a bit cheaper than Australia Post.  This is the single most reason I'm switching to online, but you have to admit with 2 young children at home it's much easier too.

So, I thought I would show you a few of the sites that are offering good prices (good bookmarks for me too):

  • Catalogue sales are also applicable to online goods.
  • Postage isn't flat rate, but they do have an online postage calculator, just enter the postcode you are shipping to.

  • Standard $10 shipping to most addresses for standard items.  Larger items more, smaller items less.
  • Add item to shopping bag and then enter postcode for shipping cost.
  • Kmart has really dropped their prices lately, so it's a good place to get some deals.
  • $9 standard shipping, excluding big and bulky items.
  • In store sales are also available online.
  • In store sales also available online, as well as exclusive online deals.
  • Sign up to get emails of sales - I find this really handy!
  • Standard shipping for Metro is $9, Regional is $10, Remote is $13.
  • Postage calculator available when you click on a product.  Enter postcode for calculation.
  • Our overseas family love this site and buy all the boys gifts from here.
  • Postage calculator located on each item.  Shipping charges are incredibly low.
  • Wide range of products and prices.  Lots of good deals.
  • Had no issues when one item we received was missing a part.  They simply shipped the missing part to us.

  Myer
  • A new discovery for me.
  • Looks like in store sales are not available online, but they do have other well priced sales.
  • Standard shipping is free (wow), of course some exclusions apply.  I'm not sure if this is a regular deal or just for the holiday period.  I may well be getting my niece's gift from here.

Since I'm joining the world of online shopping, please leave any of your favourite sites in the comments and I'll be sure to check them out.

I buy so many things online. I always find that it's cheaper and less hassle.

I love all this information you shared. It will be easier for you to shop this way with little ones. So nice to just do this from home without go out to the stores and dealing with crowds/weather so good for you.

I've never shopped online but would love to start. Especially if free shipping is involved.

Hope you are all doing well. Can't believe Christmas is less then a month away.

Thank you for sharing this info with us:) I don't do lots of online shopping but I've been doing it a little more lately. If I had to choose a favourite it would be Lark I've bought quite a bit there, always on time but a little expensive with the postage.

Goodluck with your Christmas shopping sounds like you're doing very well, better than me.

Thanks for your lovely comments. x
